2006 Honda VTX1300R
I bought the VTX after about two months of research and a whole lot of gas trying to barter the best deal. This was my first real 2-wheeled monster that I’ve bought (Mini-bikes, mopeds, and dirt bikes growing up) and I have to say after dozens of test rides and comparisons, this bike takes them all.
Bought it May 12th ‘06. Right now it’s July 25th ‘06 and I’ve put on 4,800 miles on it. After I get some Mustang seats, to get rid of this sore back, I think I may just even sleep on it.
With the metallic blue paint job, everywhere I go people look and stare and give complements. I even got a few from some crotchers … which brings me to the performance part.
If you’re a crotcher out there and don’t have anything over a 900cc, don’t even try it. For a 740 lb (wet) 1300cc bike, this thing MOVES.
Stock, it was pulling on my boss’s ‘05 H-D Heritage Softail w/ Screamin’ Eagle Stage 2 injectors, fuel control module, and Screamin’ Eagle pipes. Stage II H-D that can’t keep up with a stock VTX.
Well that’s all I got for now … just writing this is making me want to go out for a ride.
