Dodge Nitro – First Drive: You know the commercial: Some sad sack guy in a non-descript car gets a jump – literally – from a shiny red Dodge Nitro. Hmmm…not sure how it is that the 260-horsepower engine in the Nitro R/T blows a car off its tires, but hey, that’s creative license for ya, a liberty Dodge designers also took when penning the Nitro’s blocky look and robust fender flares. Dodge Sprinter – The 1970s are long gone, and full-size vans have lost their cool. Today they’re the preferred ride of plumbers, airport shuttle drivers, and obsessively procreative types such as the 16-kids-and-counting Duggar family of Arkansas. Dodge Charger SRT 8 - Get over the fact that the 2006 Dodge Charger has four doors and is actually a sedan rather than a coupe. Twenty years ago, the last Charger of the 20th century was an ugly little three-door hatchback built on an Omnirizon econo-car platform with front-wheel drive, and the performance model was a Carroll Shelby-tuned version with a turbocharged four-banger putting out 175 horsepower. Dodge Ram Mega Cab - Why buyers, traditionally men, continue to opt for massive trucks, despite rising gas prices and increasingly congested traffic, may seem cut and dried. There is a genuine need for large, capable trucks to haul and tow burdensome loads, clamber over muddy and rock-strewn trails, all while carrying a cabin full of five or six passengers. (more…)
