Dodge Viper SRT10

Dodge Viper SRT10Dodge Viper SRT10 - The 2008 Viper SRT10’s 600 horsepower put it in very exclusive company. While there are a handful of other cars that make 600 or more horsepower, they all cost well over six figures. The Viper joins this club at a relatively bargain-basement price. (more…)

Dodge Grand Caravan

Dodge Grand CaravanDodge Grand Caravan – Are you a Town and Country Mom, a Grand Caravan Dad, and do you like Habanero peppers in your mashed potatoes? If you answered anything beyond a confused “huh?,” go camping and get away from the marketing machine that runs this world. (more…)

Dodge Magnum

Wednesday, May 9th, 2007

Dodge MagnumDodge Magnum –  Lots of people want to buy the Magnum, and many do. For those who don’t it’s more a case of what the Magnum is than what it’s not. It’s an unabashedly macho, gas guzzling, low riding ’tude wagon that looks great when you’re off with friends from your bowling league, but not so hot when you’re driving to that all-important corporate lunch. Dodge Nitro

Dodge NitroDodge Nitro – First Drive: You know the commercial: Some sad sack guy in a non-descript car gets a jump – literally – from a shiny red Dodge Nitro. Hmmm…not sure how it is that the 260-horsepower engine in the Nitro R/T blows a car off its tires, but hey, that’s creative license for ya, a liberty Dodge designers also took when penning the Nitro’s blocky look and robust fender flares. Dodge Sprinter

Dodge SprinterDodge Sprinter – The 1970s are long gone, and full-size vans have lost their cool. Today they’re the preferred ride of plumbers, airport shuttle drivers, and obsessively procreative types such as the 16-kids-and-counting Duggar family of Arkansas. Which goes to show that unhip doesn’t mean unusable, or more importantly, unprofitable. (more…)

Dodge Charger SRT-8

Wednesday, May 9th, 2007

Dodge Charger SRT-8Dodge Charger SRT 8 - Get over the fact that the 2006 Dodge Charger has four doors and is actually a sedan rather than a coupe. Twenty years ago, the last Charger of the 20th century was an ugly little three-door hatchback built on an Omnirizon econo-car platform with front-wheel drive, and the performance model was a Carroll Shelby-tuned version with a turbocharged four-banger putting out 175 horsepower. (more…)

Dodge Ram Mega Cab

Wednesday, May 9th, 2007

Dodge Ram Mega CabDodge Ram Mega Cab - Why buyers, traditionally men, continue to opt for massive trucks, despite rising gas prices and increasingly congested traffic, may seem cut and dried. There is a genuine need for large, capable trucks to haul and tow burdensome loads, clamber over muddy and rock-strewn trails, all while carrying a cabin full of five or six passengers. (more…)

Dodge Avenger First Drive

Wednesday, May 9th, 2007

Dodge Avenger First DriveDodge Avenger First Drive – Dale Earnhardt was called the Intimidator, Arnie was called the Terminator. Why? Because Earnhardt’s #3 in a rearview mirror scared the bejeezus out of fellow race drivers, and Governor Schwarzenegger snuffed out bad guys in his own special biomechanical kick-ass way. (more…)

2007 Dodge Magnum R/T

Tuesday, October 10th, 2006

Essentially the same as the Dodge Charger R/T, the Dodge Magnum R/T has one added dimension; it’s a true-blue station wagon. All too often recently, manufacturers are wont to call station wagons “crossover vehicles,” even if all they offer is front-wheel or rear-wheel drive. To me, if it looks like a duck….
