As its available only in three-door form, the new model has been designed to appeal to young drivers. Metallic blue paint is the only colour option, and 16-inch alloy wheels come as standard. Mitsubishi Shogun Sport - Slotting into a gap in the 4×4 market which the Shogun has priced itself out of (£20,000 to £25,000) the Shogun Sport is a surprisingly appealing way into the Shogun brand name. While it may lack the sophistication of its more expensive brother, it is a fine machine on the road. There are few off-roaders that can be driven with such gusto; the ride is firm as a compromise, but for a large vehicle it’s exceptionally controllable, in the mud too it’s a seriously capable machine. But that all changed late 2004 with Mitsubishi introducing more sober suited and sensible Lancer alternatives for drivers who don’t need or want the performance that the EVO models offer. This Lancer line-up understandably sits well below the high performance derivatives in the price and performance stakes, its emphasis on value for money and decent equipment levels rather than 0-60 times and fancy four-wheel-drive systems. Power for these Lancers comes from either 1.6 or 2.0-litre naturally aspirated engines, with 96bhp and 133bhp respectively. Mitsubishi Shogun - It was one of THE 4×4s of the 1990s, with a great image and oodles of desirability. Then, in 2000, Mitsubishi launched an advanced all-new Shogun…and dropped the ball. The new model was, on paper, far better than the old, coming complete with advanced monocoque construction to improve ride, handling and refinement. Trouble was, Mitsubishi went overboard with the styling, adding garish side trims, an odd nose and lashings of chrome. It was hardly subtle, and in many eyes just looked tacky. Sales plummeted. Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder Review - Muggy heat roasts the morning traffic, you’re sweating in your best suit and tie, and the air conditioning is having trouble erasing the combined effect of the baking sun and the suffocating humidity. The drudgery of the daily commute in your sauna-on-wheels builds resentment while weaving your way through traffic – and then a sleek new convertible slides up beside you at the next light, driven by someone who clearly has no particular place to be except behind the wheel and having fun. Envy and imagination are sparked, and it’s easy to picture yourself swapping business attire for shorts and sandals, cruising a coastal highway and looking good with the top down and the tunes playing. Then a sharp horn blast snaps you back to reality and you continue the tedious journey to work, wallowing in your jealousy while weighing the possibility of trading in your plain-Jane sedan for one of those sporty topless beauties.
